I'm loving having switched to a #moka pot for my #coffee . So much better than the coffee I was making!
But it's *much* stronger than what I've been drinking recently, so my usual 2 #americano s are *way* too much caffeine for me.
But I'm so accustomed to drinking 2 americanos a day, so I've bought some decaf ground coffee, and I think I'll try making a half-caf 6-cup #bialetti and see if that's about the right balance.
The half-caf experiment this morning wasn't *entirely* successful. Or maybe it's just because I *knew* it wasn't full-caf, my brain said "hey! this isn't as good!". (Yes, I know half-caf won't be as good as regular, period.)
Or maybe my brain had also got accustomed to a week of a lot more #caffeine and said "hey! where's my hit?"
@constantorbit Careful! The #moka is a gateway device to the ultimate neuronal connection... espresso. I started out that way many years ago. And now I'm one of those guys that roasts single sourced beans. Aaaargh.
@constantorbit got any good coffee brands you’re enjoying with it? So far I’ve only used Illy
@molecat I've actually just been using Peet's Major Dickason's Blend (ground, even, not whole bean ) and I'm quite happy with it!
@constantorbit I have to buy ground as I don’t own a grinder.
@molecat I have to buy ground because I'm lazy
@constantorbit reminds me of the several months I had a contractor in my home. The first thing we wired up was the espresso machine. He told me he really appreciated how I made him lattes each morning because it got him buzzing for the day.
We drank exclusively decaf. I didn’t have the heart to tell him.
