holy corvid this post sort of took off...
(and I've been mostly offline since I posted it)
@constantorbit For some reason, this photo reminded me of the scene with Death on the beach in The Seventh Seal
@constantorbit This should be a cover of a novel. Nicely done.
@Likewise aww, thank you. It was a pretty remarkable experience.
@constantorbit I love this photo a lot.
@constantorbit May I please download & play around with edits & tag you after I finish playing?
@msquebanh Absolutely! I would be thrilled. I actually regretted not doing a little bit of editing on it myself before posting, but I was just so taken by the moment... it was pretty remarkable.
@constantorbit My wife and I walk here often, particularly on the non-Ferry side. The crows are super friendly, although two different pairs have territories and will fuss a bit in the middle.
Our particularly favorites are "Lady Bird", who has a slightly elongated lower beak, and "Chuck", who will absolutely catch treats out of the air if you toss them in their general vicinity.
@mattcjordan I was JUST on the non-ferry side (the weather was fantastic with all the wind and whitecaps)... I swear I was being followed by one of the pairs for quite a while, and at one point one sat on a branch not 6 feet away eyeing me...
...and then, after leaving the park (headed up 48th ave), one of the pair did one of those swoops down right by my head. I kept trying to explain to them I didn't have any treats, but I don't think they believed me.
@mattcjordan I *did* actually give a few treats to a couple of crows a day or two earlier, over closer to the Fauntleroy ferry... I was honestly wondering if word had been passed around the murder... "Psst. The grey-haired guy in the blue windbreaker. Food. Pass it on."
