Lazyweb, what's a decent cheap "IP camera" that'd work for pet nannycam use? Absolutely no cloud bs, some sort of simple direct streaming needed and ideally easy to integrate with HA if I ever wanted that. Looking for under-$50 price range.
@dalias Tapo C110 w an SD card.
@samueljohnson How do you access it?
@dalias. Mostly via mobile app but I can connect an RTSP stream to things like Synology Surveillance Station recording setup or TV or other things*. If it's ever slow via mobile phone (happens v occasionally) I just switch on Tailscale on my phone (my router is an exit node) and it's as fast as if coming from cloud (I have a gigabit fibre connection).
*had on old ipad on the wall in kitchen with a web browser to see if there were eggs to be collected
@dalias "slow" above refers to using phone away from home Wi-Fi, esp when in a moving vehicle.
@samueljohnson Ok, C110 is cheap and seems to do RTSP. Is this right? And not too hard to provision and turn off or block cloud afterwards?
@dalias Yes. Cheap. Easy to provision. Does RTSP. I have no use for 3rd party cloud service subscriptions. They're cheap because that is where they make money (from most people).
