@Tutanota Hi. Considering you as an alternative to Proton, but someone resurfaced this terrible 2022 marketing shame. What measures did you take since then to make sure it never happens again?

@dalias @shalf @Tutanota yah... massive oof. i mean, posted to Twitter so... catering to the audience? blegh.

@peachfiend@mastodon.sdf.org @dalias@hachyderm.io @shalf@mamot.fr @Tutanota@mastodon.social catering to the audience would have been if it was 2018. the interracial gangbang meme format died out around then. Posting a 3+ year old meme in 2022 was just distasteful even when we ignore the other parts.

@Tutanota
y'know... thanks for actually following up on this. i'm so accustomed to encountering non-apologies, nonresponse, or worst, doubling down. it's a decent apology, and it's refreshing to see. i'm checking out your website and it is respectable... i especially like the thorough image crediting, and i appreciate the commitment to salary transparency. i also appreciate the small free account option, and i will be giving it a try. ✌🏻
@puppygirlhornypost2 @dalias

@them heh.
to your point, i was more interested in theability to admit mistakes and (when possible) make amends than in who pays them for their service. but also, i read much of that article as highly sarcastic. hard to tell, these days, but i mean... lines like, "Because, well, that would just be unfair. So UNFAIR," and the closing as its own new paragraph, "If only to prevent more fake news." i guess to clarify, they could have added a "tee-hee!" @Tutanota @puppygirlhornypost2 @dalias

@peachfiend @them @puppygirlhornypost2 @dalias This was, indeed, meant sarcastically. In the original, we changed the image to include a FAKE NEWS banner - because this article was made up entirely. It was during our early days, and we had to be creative to get people to know about Tutanota. However, the joke was not received too well so we took the post off our blog. Being Germans, we might not be the most competent in making jokes. ;) Sorry about that!
