@thomasfuchs I'm pretty sure what MERID is but... what are these others?
amazing find nonetheless.
@draNgNon @thomasfuchs From the *Encyclopaedia Ridicularum* entry on this topic:
"Placid Dalton Koch" was the birth name of the youngest and most obscure of the Koch family of business-oriented right-wing shitheads. More interested in the occult than in maximizing shareholder value, Placid went into the business of astrology and pioneered computer-assisted astrology tools in the 1960s. Unfortunately, years of being called "Flaccid Placid" by his peers led to him ultimately despising his birth name and adopting another name as a pseudonym, whose connection to the original is a heavily guarded secret. Astrologers still use his birth name in his honor as a pioneer of modern computational methods.
I'm sure the Low Quality Facts account can provide more details.
@draNgNon @thomasfuchs A bit more seriously: this article about "house systems". No, I don't know the details, but apparently, the choice does matter to people who are seriously into it. https://mountainastrologer.com/some-thoughts-on-the-astrological-houses-placidus-equal-or-what/
