@nova I hope it's still possible to create a profitable but genuinely mission-driven corporation, but it takes true commitment and intention.
But maybe that's wishful thinking on my part.
Ideally there would be a class of public stock which acknowledges that the mission takes some preference over pure stockholder profit.
@fuzzykb @nova I like this idea, currently laws make directors focus on the good of the company as part of fiduciary duty. Obviously this poses a problem for directors that want the company to focus on something else, it means they can be ousted too easily. Which is what I think happens to many big charities.
A law that changed or provided a different class of fiduciary duty to include public benefit would be a good start.
