Speaking of getting a blog post out
I had some thoughts about what I'd tell my younger self as I started my career as a web developer that wanted to advocate for accessibility and thought I'd share.
What would you have told yourself?

@hbuchel really great post Heather! It resonated deeply
@hbuchel This reminds me of when I tried to explain we couldn't use the chosen red error colour and green success colour because they looked identical to red/green colour blind people (never mind the whole using only colour to differentiate thing -- one step at a time).
Six months later, the same person tells me proudly they are following WCAG AA, in part because of my advocacy.
@hbuchel I actually saw quite a bit of hope in this. I'm lucky to have leadership on board - though actually getting stuff done is still tricky!
But your post actually makes me feel more confident that continuing down this path is what I want to do. Thank you
@sarajw that made me very happy to read :)
It's actually so validating to know that what I'm going through is similar to what you've been through. That it's not just me being a not-good-enough-accessibility-advocate!
@hbuchel Thank you for writing this.
@hbuchel This was a great read. Thank you Heather!
@hbuchel This is what I’ve just told my current self:
> I wish I were able to write an article as good as this one.
@hbuchel thank you - great article
