UK friends; some ingredient sourcing advice please. My town just Does Not Do ingredients for east Asian cuisines. I can get anything for any Indian or Pakistani food you can imagine in bulk at near wholesale prices, but what I wanted today was Chinese black vinegar, wakame seaweed, and a laksa paste that's got a bit more punch than the weak ass supermarket stuff.
Without making extensive trips in the car, what can I do? Source me a dealer so I can get my fix!
[Edit] thank you all for the suggestions! I think I can get to one of the Longdan outlets (strongly prefer this over mail order as I want some things that will be in frozen)
@http_error_418 You can order online from Longdan.
@hedders well now this looks promising
@hedders so @skinnylatte there's nothing in this store called "black vinegar" but there is a black coloured vinegar. Is this the right stuff? https://longdan.co.uk/products/danyu-chinkiang-vinegar-550ml?_pos=1&_fid=c7b312323&_ss=c
@http_error_418 @hedders here's some good info about types of black vinegar
@skinnylatte @hedders mmmm, mouth watering just from reading this
@skinnylatte @hedders oooh best of all their nearest location is a place I might actually go to shop for other things... not *close* close, but enough that it's worth the occasional trip
@skinnylatte @hedders omg they have everything! Even fresh pandan leaf!
@http_error_418 Have fun, don't eat too much!
@hedders define "too much"
@http_error_418 @skinnylatte @hedders https://starrymart.co.uk/ has quite a bit of stuff online, and a few physical branches in the SE (but I don't know where you are, so those may not help)
