Someone just gave me a heads-up about this site… Free heirloom seeds for starting your garden?
https://freeheirloomseeds.org/
This seems like a really cool organization
@ironcladlou
I just received mine from them, took about three weeks to get them. I’ve gotten them for the last three years, and most are great, but a few that didn’t germinate or were something else than name on package. And many lovely, hard to find things. So, a bit hit or miss and good to send them a donation, too to cover expenses.
@IcooIey oh cool! Thanks for the first-hand info on them.
I am ok with some minor slip ups, especially from a fully volunteer group
I am super excited about what they’re doing. This is a really inspirational endeavor! And their list is so huge! It’s gonna take me all day to read through and pick a few good ones.
I hope your garden has huge success this season!!
@ironcladlou
Be sure to include substitutions in case some things run out. The only seeds I didn’t get were yellow snow peas that I really wanted. I have a few seeds I think tucked away from last year.
They have also sometimes send extra. Was sent some cactus seeds last year!
@ironcladlou What a great thing.. thank you for sharing it!
@ironcladlou omg that website hurts my eyes. it's 1997 all over again.
