Does anyone have an explainer for someone out of the loop on fediforum?
@hrefna 1. The co-organizer has been arguing terf-y taking points on bluesky. It's very routine terfery, and it seems a lot of it just comes straight out of Irreversible Damage. She's been kicked out as an organizer, but otherwise the reaction has been kind of grudging and defensive.
2. Also, the remaining organizer has a history of doing the kind of demanding, entitled, white fragility that is so common around here that most people can't even see it. So that part isn't getting talked about, but makes the first part less surprising.
@hrefna actually, it might have been on Twitter, not bluesky. Not that it changes much. But I'd rather not have people incessantly correcting me on trivial details while ignoring the actual substance. So, maybe this will help prevent that
@jenniferplusplus ah the joys of being a woman on the fediverse, where you have to be excessively and pedantically correct or people will completely ignore what you said in favor of trivial and irrelevant details.
