First time using #github's #container registry and it's kinda great isn't it? Pushed a first (or rather fifth after I got the release process working properly) release of https://github.com/d2iq-labs/csi-driver-trusted-ca - a #csi driver to manage trusted CA #certificates in a consistent way, simple deployment on #kubernetes via #helm. This was an #opensource project that came out of our recent #d2iq #hackathon (or, as we called it, Innovation Days).
@jimmidyson I want to like #github #container registry, but I really struggle with the permissions model for anything that isn’t public.
@tylerauerbeck I've only used it for public so far... What issues are you seeing with the permissions model? I am just happy to be able to easily use something other than #docker hub so might be a little over enthusiastic
@jimmidyson don’t use anything else these days, after docker hub rate limit. Works perfect together with girhub actions, to build and push directly
@rhjensen Exactly! Docker hub rate limiting is a killer for users, but I do understand it from a business perspective when you effectively only have a single revenue stream.
@jimmidyson agree. If i’m using docker hub, it’s almost always behind #Harbor registry, as proxy. That is a great way to get around it.
