Does anyone else feel bad when an overly ambitious little spider starts to build an impressive web somewhere they shouldn't, and you have to tear it all down?
Sorry!
@mekkaokereke i’ve been trying to do more to negotiate between the needs of critters and my squeamish daughters. i try my best to relocate bees, wasps and spiders without killing them
Spiders yes! Bees yes, especially from pools! Wasps... I'm trying to get there.
Bees don't want to sting me! Because they're nice, friendly little fuzzies!
(*Don't ask me to explain any of this. I have been stung by bees. I have never been stung by a wasp.
@mekkaokereke you’re not wrong
@mekkaokereke @kellogh Wasps are actually a lot less aggressive earlier in the year; their fearsome reputation as summer pests is due to behavioral changes that happen when they eat meat (BBQ leavings). When they're still eating just fruit they're much more docile.
@klausfiend @mekkaokereke funny…i’m more docile after eating meat
@kellogh @mekkaokereke For me it depends on the spice rub :-)
@klausfiend @mekkaokereke @kellogh wasps don’t eat meat, they collect it to feed larvae. They’re more aggressive then because they need it to feed their family.
