A lot of the problems in the #Nix/#NixOS community are fundamental, built into its culture, from toxic development culture to the *two* repeated military-industrial sponsorship situations.
The culture of undermining community authority, of acceptability of conflict of interest, of tolerating abusive behaviour, goes up to the very top of the organization, with Eelco Dolstra.

@irenes @leftpaddotpy i signed but tbh at the same time i am certain this isn’t gonna lead to anything *at all* simply because of the very power imbalance this letter does such a good job at outlining & providing evidence for.
This is of course not the first such outcry. And like the ones before it will be dealt with by simply not reacting at all.
Fork if you have the dedication&resources or move on - I did.
Maybe something maybe not. I wish everyone the best but I think given the combination of history and status-quo that is by far not enough.
Trying to imagine a spectrum from worst to best case scenario the only way in which meaningful things will happen is through more proactive measures instead of expecting change from those who have no incentive for it.
I sympathize and am empathetic but that is my firm believe. I’m glad all of this is behind me.
