I realised something recently - why I avoid shows such The Glory and palace harem dramas.
Bullying. There's so much bullying in them.

And because I suffered from a lot of bullying in different periods of my life, I do not like being reminded of it nor do I enjoy watching people suffer from it. It's stressful!

Revenge dramas however, are a favourite. I wonder why. Bwhaha.

@liztai The Kdrama's that have high school bullying gut me. First that no adult is anywhere in sight when it happens, that it's not taken seriously and that people can be so cruel and violent.

@jodmentum unfortunately I think it's too real. I was once bullied by a couple of Korean housemates and I kept thinking, while they were doing it, "Wow! This is like a kdrama!" and they even had that iconic sneer bullies have in these dramas. Yea so... I can't watch dramas, especially KDramas, with female bullies. Stirs up too many unpleasant memories 😅

@liztai I'm sorry to hear that and also disgusted that people are like that.

@jodmentum it's OK, it's in the past, and it made me more empathic as a person as a result 🤗

@liztai @jodmentum I’m sorry you had to go through that! Bullying was always super confusing to me. It was like a virtual game of keep away. Only you couldn’t see the game board, but you felt it. This isn’t acceptable behavior to me. It’s why we support one another. Let others know we don’t stand for this type of behavior.

My partner says I’m too sensitive sometimes and maybe I am? I just dislike good people being stepped on! ♾️❤️

@EVDHmn @jodmentum same! I think when a society gets too competitive bullying just goes up. Baser instincts take over I guess.

@liztai so much this. It shocked me how big Boys Over Flowers got, like people are willing to inject that much bullying plutonium into their veins and say they like it? My favorite shows are ones where everyone is supportive and works through the challenges of life and society the best they can without viciousness

@22 I never understood dramas with male or female leads who are toxic or bullies. I don't find any if that attractive or desirable 😩

@liztai Bullying is sadly universal but what I like about some palace dramas is that the bullies get what they deserve. That is one of the joys of the drama world, because in real life justice isn't always served.
