FYI, please don't tattoo yourself with Chinese characters you "looked up at a library".

Also if you ask it from a Chinese person please make sure said person likes you.

Reddit poster saw a guy with a tattoo in Chinese that says "family" and "mother". Guy actually wanted his tattoo to say "fuck everyone" and he said it was right cos he looked it up in the library.

@liztai thanks for sharing this -- I'm a beginner, so getting insight into how the language works is great - a quick play with google translate suggests that 他妈好吃 means "bloody delicious" or similar

From a net search, I see that 他妈 is short for a pretty rude saying (not one I'll be trying to reproduce any time soon!):

@wall0159 @kopio yes, you usually use it like an exclamation, but I've always found it an odd way to swear lol. I often hear 他的妈 ya! from my part of the world. Though, 他妈的 ("damn it") is probably used more often in China.
