I won't even give up the TV remote in my house! I am the high Lord Emperor of all televisual entertainment in my domain. You can watch whatever you want on the TV, as long as you want to watch exactly what I want to watch. Otherwise, go get a tablet from one of my kids, or use your phone. The gods favour me! If Predator is on again? Then we are watching Predator again! But... it's not on again. So I decree that we are watching Bluey. I have spoken!

Look. It's rare to get a kids show that is not only not pencil in the ear annoying, but is actually fun to watch. Let us have this.

@mikey @grumpasaurus @mekkaokereke Bluey is fantastic. First time I heard about it I thought it was just another silly kids show. It took all of watching one or two episodes in earnest to completely change my mind.
@mikey @mekkaokereke @grumpasaurus Bluey and Blue's Clues are the GOAT and I will fight anyone that says otherwise. There are many advantages of having a son, being able to watch these shows guilt free in front of others is up there.

Bluey is probably one of the cutest, most wholesome show for children (and parents) that you can find. It's just great.
@mekkaokereke I learned about Cincinnatus as a result of this toot. I like the quote from the Wikipedia page that “his immediate resignation of near-absolute authority at the end of the crisis …has often been cited as a model of selfless leadership, civic virtue, and service to the greater good”. But dude was 71! He just wanted to go back to being quietly retired on his farm!

If I get asked to come out of retirement to fix something, I am damned sure going to fix it expeditiously (and probably grumpily) and then go back to being retired.

@mekkaokereke None of my projects have come even remotely close to the same success as Mastodon, and you'd still have to pry them from my cold, dead hands. Huge respect to Eugen for giving up his baby for the greater good
