If I'm reading this right, "Tulip" is the CEO of "Outta Wax" in south Minneapolis.
"Most of all, they want to make sure that vinyl records are here to stay. Whether you got invested by a Taylor Swift limited edition vinyl, a family member’s passed down collection or the number one selling record of all time, Stillman and Pette want you to keep listening."

A young friend—in fact the haver of Pepper the oft-written-about borrowed dog—has asked that I give her my record collection when I want to get rid of it.
I hope she fully appreciates the inconvenience of vinyl records.
They're heavy, bulky, and fiddly to take care of and play.
BUT — they're lovely to hold, to watch going around on the turntable, and the cover art is worth the trouble, if you like that kinda thing.
@rationaldoge They force you to pay attention to the music, an antidote for todays world of ubiquitous ai generated shlush. Also, they sound real nice on a good system.
@quantensalat Vinyl records sound amazing, almost unbelievably so when you consider their mechanical nature and the need to amplify the transduced signal by a factor of a million or so.
Here's a poorly composed snapshot I took while on the bus yesterday because I was interested in that little radio in the front window.
It's a place in south Minneapolis that sells 78s and all manner of analog equipment. Talk about old school! Surprised the floor hasn't collapsed with the weight of all those records.
Many years ago there was a place over by the University called the Needle Doctor. It specialized in turntables and cartridges for vinyl record playback. Long gone now.
@rationaldoge I stored away my Thorens&NAD Phono Preamp when the kids were small, now would be a good time to reactivate it.
@rationaldoge I'm surprised that store on 38th is still 'open'. Never seen anyone go in there.
@neballer I do believe it is still open because that console stereo is out on the sidewalk in front. I see lights on when I go by on the bus on my way to walk the friends' dog. I'll have to hop off sometime and check it out.
Here's an old public television feature about the place.
