@jason @felsqualle yes, that was a miss and I apologize, we didn’t think about the UTF-8 problem. Someone did already get it to build, however, so it’s confirmed possible, and I’m gonna try to put together a script to fix. I’ll also try to put together a correct zip file in a few weeks.
@shanselman thank you, that’s great to hear!
@shanselman What both you and @starfrost did here is simply amazing, a great piece of history. I was always wondering how different the IBM PC-DOS and MS-DOS builds were - well, now I can see that the differences are really minor thanks to the "IBMCOPYRIGHT" defines. Let's see how long it takes to compile on period-correct emulated hardware.
@felsqualle @starfrost ya that #define was hilarious to find
@felsqualle @starfrost this was the person who I saw build it first https://x.com/virtuallyfun/status/1783645325388865685?s=46
@shanselman @starfrost I can confirm that it builds using the VMDK that is floating around with the fixed line endings - I stripped the included build artifacts and used this as source.
Well, everything except SELECT works; I had to intentionally break the PANEL stuff which now results in one huge graphical glitch, beeps and a crash.
Thanks again for your work!
