I'm here with the "BlueSky has won and fedi lost" narratives. Sure it's a little disappointing to see folks flocking to another VC clowncar, but we'll still be here when their next house burns down. In the meantime we'll probably have them increasingly well bridged so the next migration isn't even that painful.
@dalias Even if you're an AP deadender, this is objectively a positive step forward - in no small part because as you mentioned, it's a lot easier to bridge from (and to) Bluesky by design.
@dalias I don't realistically think Mastodon is in the position to be capturing an audience like the one that's migrated to Bluesky recently for two main reasons: lack of familiar analogs and onboarding mechanisms + frankly immature trust and safety tooling. But the way I see it they have fundamentally different goals regardless and I'm happy to see success on both ends.
