I took the day to decompress from the ugly, racist incident that I experienced this morning. A woman pointed a blow torch (that had fuel) at me like a weapon, and said she was going to burn me and my dog because we were ugly Chinese hos. I felt sorry for her and told her to have a good day. And that my dog was not Chinese, but Australian.
I hope one day that this country gets its act together to do more for the mentally unwell, in ways that aren’t simply about punishment and incarceration.
After that, we walked 6 miles together for dimsum and pastries with friends and family. All to try to remember that when I decided to make this country my home, I’m aware of all of the warts and pocks it comes with.
(If you’re from another English-speaking country coming here to suggest *your* country, much worse has happened in those places, but those places don’t believe they have racism, so please don’t)

Yesterday, l went to the Dentist (England). The dentist had a Polish accent (l think), the dental assistant had a Pakistan accent, one receptionist had a Irish accent another an English accent.
There were no bigots at the dentist - so it was a friendly environment.
Generally (overall), United Kingdoms political parties do not tolerate politicians that are bigots (though "immigration" is a hot "potato").
