Many shops in SF Chinatown sell individual instant noodle packs so you can try them before buying a whole pack.
Anyway, this whole range (Nissin Demae) is probably one of the better soup noodle instant noodles in any flavor, but especially the black garlic tonkotsu.
If you haven’t been to any Chinatown grocery shops, I highly recommend Pang Kee.
It’s a superb East Asian snack shop. I just go there and get a ton of snacks.
Also large jugs of soy sauce and stuff like that.
Have you come across any gluten free noodles? I have looked several times in stores and come up nil.
@maddad can’t think of any beyond buckwheat noodles or rice noodles, which don’t often come in instant versions. Maybe some Chinese health food products, but I wouldn’t know where to get them (I’ve seen them but they’re not super common)
@skinnylatte s-tier flavor
@skinnylatte my instant noodles of choice.
Perhaps konnyaku / konjac / shirataki noodles for the gluten-free option?
@serialdeviant oh yeah good point. People should be careful of soy sauce in any soup pack too
@skinnylatte fun fact: Nissin is founded by a #Hoklo speaking Taiwanese Japanese Go Pek-Hok during the 50s
