Starting this month's photo posts with some BLM images

Here: stokes croft, July 2016. Eight years later and the US government is banning use of this and similar terms in the US govt, with subservient companies copying this to show their loyalty.

I wonder how long before Elon Musk does a database join of people who have used this hashtag on Twitter and who are listed as federal employees? Because he can now – he has the data.

Plinth of the Edward Colston statue, a statue which had been deposed, rolled over to the harbour and then thrown overboard.

It was the deposition of the statue which led the then home secretary, Priti Patel, to introduce oppressive laws about damaging statues. That is: rather than look at Britain's history in the slave trade – she made publicising its role a crime.

Southern side of the Colston plinth.
- Placard: "say NO to fake allies! Boycott Amazon!" Had a point there
- TV crews and other bystanders; biggest event in The Centre since they installed the broken fountains.
- the ugly 1970s Tower block in the background of one of the pictures was named "Colston Tower" until that week. photos of that to come.
- Lots of motor traffic in the background. In the 1990 this area was a multi lane roundabout. Since then there have been improvements, the most recent being the eastern side is now exclusively for buses and bicycles. It is still a place where people wouldn't normally go, except for the skateboarders.
- The river Frome is underneath here. Until the victorian era, the harbour ran up this far. Therefore, the slaver ships could well have ducked under where everyone is standing: The Colston statue stood over the site where his own vessels would've docked.
