Aye #homelab got lots to do today. First need to rebuild my #lxd host!! I was thinking #debian but maybe #Alpine! I guess I want something minimal underneath since I do pretty much all of my business at the #lxd layer. I have never used either that much! Sort of leaning towards alpine... maybe?
Like whats the equivalent of these #kubernetes OS's for VM's :) Lets go #linux #nerds
@train think a more “batteries included” OS like Debian makes sense as a host - then tiny slices for each of the container jails can be micro-OS style like alpine
@train I run my k8s compute nodes on Alpine, had to do a small amount of adjustment to make it work but now they're rock-solid. None of the crap I ran into should affect lxd but there may be other issues... something in the wrong place, or whatever. I bet once it's going though it'll work great!
@fwaggle Yea I'm going down the route of alpine! There is a bit of trail and error. I have not gotten to the part of installing lxd yet, but i'm not far.
@train I personally would to rolling for an lxd server - not too sure with what, but tumbleweed may be alright
I wouldn't do that if it were running otherstuff though
