Periodic reminder that I maintain the https://github.com/unixorn/internet-of-trash list.
If you bought some #iot device and it doesn't work well (or at all) with #HomeAssistant, please create an issue or PR. Same if the vendor starts charging for API access or disables local API access.
I can use all the help I can get
@unixorn Bookmarked.
I see Tesla is already listed, but with recent firmware, the Powerwall core integration simply does not work, as the gateway forgets its own password less than an hour after resetting it. If you log in before it forgets, the integration works until the login cookie expires.
Very much "updated" firmware has broken existing functionality that used to work for the last seven or so years.
Fleet replacement does not provide nearly the same level of device access.
Will draft PR later today when I have a chance.
@BernardSheppard thanks, I appreciate the help, especially when it is about a device I don’t own and don’t know the pain points
@unixorn I know that there is an integration built for FordPass using hacs but it is currently broke. Ford keeps changing the API and it has made the developer's life difficult. They also shut off people's access to their app if they had too many integrations at some point.
The developer behind https://github.com/itchannel/fordpass-ha has been great. But Ford has been awful. See https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/ford-suspending-accounts-due-to-third-party-connections.34189/
I'm not sure if it should be on your list since the community has worked so hard and Ford has even tried to make better APIs.
#homeassistant
@kzettel Warning about something being unstable definitely counts. Just be sure to clarify that it isn't the developer's fault, I want to make sure the list doesn't cause aggravation for devs.
