Okay, this goes into this week's best "is this the Onion" "no it's real" news story.
ABC13: Man accidentally shot self in foot while attempting to kill cockroach
"DETROIT (WKRC) - A man accidentally shot himself in the foot while trying to kill a cockroach in an unlucky and unfortunate series of events.
Police said that the victim, a 50-year-old man who uses a wheelchair, was attempting to kill a cockroach with his shoe.
He took off his shoe and threw it at the bug to kill it, but a revolver he had hidden in the shoe fell to the ground. Upon making contact with the floor, the gun discharged and the bullet hit the victim in the foot."
@ai6yr This really doesn't seem to add up.
Who stores a revolver in their shoe? Who throws a shoe at a cockroach? And who takes off and throws their shoe that has a revolver in it?
Also, how does a revolver go off from being dropped? Was it already cocked in his shoe? Who would store it cocked in their shoe?

As a wheelchair user when outside of the house, shoes are pretty much optional. When I do go out I wear flip-flops so I can slide out of them easily to elevate my legs on dashboards, seats, etc and not deprive my brain of oxygen quite as quickly.
Shoes are for prolonged periods outdoors in freezing weather, which is pretty much never happening. I probably should put some thought into what I could store in my unused shoes
