Teens come up with #trigonometry proof for #PythagoreanTheorem, a problem that stumped #math world for centuries
A #highschool teacher didn't expect a solution when she set a 2,000-year-old Pythagorean Theorem problem in front of her students. Then Calcea Johnson and Ne'Kiya Jackson stepped up to the challenge.

@BenjaminHCCarr something like this happened in a math class at my high school too. Granted, it was a math & science school, but a high school senior named Dan Pape pulled a theorem about the number of sides and the angles in non-reentrant polygons out of... somewhere - thin air? - once, and it seemed at the time to be a novel one! I sometimes wonder if Pape's theorem is still out there...
@BenjaminHCCarr i don't understand y hard using trigonometry. trigonometry DEPENDS on the pythagorian theorem.
i guess i'd have to see what the qustion is and how they did it
