self-host what you want, it’s a good thing in general, but don’t misrepresent the experience. you will have to think about opsec and administration. mail isn’t worth it.
@zzt It is not dead simple, especially not for someone without technical expertise, but it's sooooo much easier than everyone makes it out to be, and the privacy and security properties are so much better.
Absolutely host your own mail if you can. And even better, work to improve the tooling and recipes so more people can.
