The Dwingeloo @radiotelescoop just observed the satellite Geoscan-Edelveis as a #SatNOGS ground station (while tracking the satellite). The software demodulated 1180 Mode U - GFSK9k6 packets. View the results at network.satnogs.org/observatio.

@pi9cam I don't think I understand what I'm seeing. I assume you are tracking via passive . But the waterfall doesn't look tracked--that seems to be shift through crossover.

Oh, you usually do work, so you probably wouldn't normally even have a tracker. I bet you are just pointing at the and this little (broadcasting on multiple channels, it seems) was close enough that you saw it.

@davidr We were Doppler tracking - this is a regular SatNOGS observation, where the SatNOGS software takes care of Doppler correction. Apparently, either the TLE is off, or the transmitter was drifting during the transmission.
We were also physically tracking the satellite by moving the telescope in azimuth and elevation.

@pi9cam I'm used to working with a , so "doppler tracking" means something different to me (a closed loop track based on direct ).

But I think I understand what you are saying. You are directing the via the and a doppler correction is being applied from that TLE, but for whatever reason itis slightly wrong so it isn't perfectly aligned.

@davidr That's correct, the software changes the central frequency based on a given TLE (not based on the signal itself).
