You know he spent all week rehearsing that face
I mean, think about it: he has to have been obsessing about this — he’s so concerned with theatrics and appearances and press — and this facial expression was the •winner•. The mind boggles wondering what the rejected poses looked like.
@inthehands to be fair… wouldn’t you?
@wrigleyfield
Perhaps, but if I did, I’d like to think I’d get better results
@inthehands It looks very evil.
@inthehands It's a "Mom won't buy me beer" expression.
@ghost_shit But •on purpose•! By choice! By design! That’s what gets me
@inthehands Well, look at all his other on-purposes...
@inthehands That comedy sketch almost writes itself.
@MelissaAtwell
Oh, yes it does. I am now watching this SNL episode in my imagination.
@inthehands He's a spoiled child, and that is exactly the expression a spoiled child makes on being punished.
@inthehands
He could have struck a Kennedy or FDR hero pose, forward looking, aspirational, looking beyond, but instead he chose feral, cornered rat with hint of fear/terror, but definitely threatening and ready to avenge if let loose.
@Okanogen
“He could have struck a Kennedy or FDR hero pose”
Not sure he’s capable of that, tbh! But for sure “ready to avenge” was what he was going for…just maybe not “petulant and psychologically unstable”
