Hmmm. It’s like GenZ has spent their formative years living through a historic pandemic that is causing mass death and disability.
@luckytran also… “half of all gen-z wash hands almost every time they use the bathroom or eat”?
Ten times daily is not very often, if you just do that.
@lkanies @luckytran hell I wash my hands that often when making flatbreads just to get the gack off them
@lkanies @luckytran that + a sensory aversion to greasy feeling on my skin means I wash a lot
@lkanies @luckytran wait...if it's just people wash their hands when eating or after they use the restroom, this headline is backwards: all other generations are disgusting and need to wash their freaking hands after using the bathroom! I'm guessing it was a guy over 40 who wrote that?
@JoscelynTransient @luckytran you can bet basically every article complaining about gen z is written by someone older than at least 40.
@lkanies @luckytran for sure. I also just remember how few guys used to wash their hands after using the restroom...like, my dudes, please just take 20 seconds to wash your hands, it's not that hard
@JoscelynTransient @luckytran and to be clear, Americans don’t really wash their hands before eating. That stuck out in India, which has a much stronger hand-washing culture when eating.
Washing one's hands when one comes home, before eating, after visiting the bathroom ... is just basic pro-social behavior and it's amazing that anyone would be able to call it "germaphobic" in public and get away with it.
@lkanies @luckytran yep, add in before preparing food or doing the dishes, and it’s easy to get to 10
