While at Walt Disney World a couple of weeks ago I learned The Art of Shaving is closing down their two remaining locations (Disney Springs and Manhattan) and going to only an online store. They also discontinued my favorite shaving cream scent (Bourbon). I shall miss the Barber Spa opportunity at Disney. This photo is me enjoying a barber shave in 2015.

@machias I am bummed to hear this as I have always wanted to go there but keep forgetting or having scheduling conflicts.

@WiredForFlight I enjoyed the couple of shaves I had there over the years; it was a good escape in the Disney experience. We have local shops I need to try out. I haven't had a barbershop shave since the pandemic. Way overdue.

@machias I had one on my last Virgin Voyages cruise and it was so nice. I do need to find a local place.

@WiredForFlight Did they use a straight razor on the cruise ship? I hope you weren't in choppy waters!

@machias On this ship they did not. The last time I did it on Royal and Celebrity they did.

@machias Really I have yet to be on a ship that was rocking and rolling that much that I would be worried about it lol

@WiredForFlight Well that's good. We've only been on one cruise and there wasn't much in the way of the boat rocking or rolling, but the barber shop still used cartridge razors. I opted to use my spa allowance (from the bookkeeping dept/husband) on a 90 minute massage instead. :)

@machias @WiredForFlight There’s something delightful about a cruise massage.

@WiredForFlight @machias Worth it every time. How else can you get a massage with a view like this?
