Back in November, 2021 a strange thing happened. After 25 years in engineering and 10 years in Engineering at Etsy, I wound up moving to Depop, post-acquisition, as Chief Product Officer. I thought I’d start sharing my thoughts here on what I’ve learned in a year on the job, how working in product differs from engineering, and what I think product managers really need from engineering.
