Eli and I had a little adventure to Hamlin Beach in the middle of winter
I really liked how eerie the beach looks with the snow and the approaching clouds

We also stopped by Braddock Point Light (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braddock_Point_Light) a historical lighthouse from 1896 that for a time had been converted into a bed and breakfast
While the primary reason I got a Google Pixel was to run GrapheneOS, both Eli and I were pleasantly surprised by the camera quality. This was our first outing since I got it and I had fun being the photographer
Also I discovered that the GrapheneOS camera defaults to stripping out EXIF data and to not having access to the phone's location, which is a nice privacy touch.
There is a app on Aurora that takes better advantage of the Pixel camera, but I can't for the life of me remember the name.
It offers far more settings and flexibility and takes amazingly clear photos. Well worth checking out.
I suggest a YouTube search is your friend, that's how I found it.
It works without GMS or Playstore too.
@avoca is it Gcam by any chance? That's what was showing up when I looked on YouTube.
No. I had to hunt for it again, but I found it. - Open Camera.
Lot's of YouTube vids about it that generally rate it highly in the Android world. Definately works without GMS or Google Play Services because I use it with my Pixel 8a on GOS.

Pixel Camera (the app by Google) also works very well without GMS and Play. I installed it from aurora and get much better pictures than with the native GOS camera. But if you don't want to use Google Photos as well, you need https://github.com/CaramelFur/GPhotosShim/releases/tag/V1.2.0 to be able to use the preview button in Pixel Camera to go to your regular gallery app.
@avoca Thanks! I will definitely check that out
