Some days when I am exasperated about America, I think about how the Bay Area is where I found hundreds of queer Asian immigrant lesbians and bi and trans women who came here to build a life and community that we couldn't have wherever we came from.

@skinnylatte just visiting SFO as a tourist taking a regular bus 10 years ago made me realise that at home I don't see elderly queer couples. And I'm from the first country that legalized same sex marriage.
It made me so sad (and very happy for the people in SFO!)
