Just watching episode 15 of “A Journey to Love” 🌸 It is a magnificent scene where Ning Yuanzhou charges in to help Ren Ruyi fight off a group of people who are attacking her. He is not saving a damsel in distress but helping the love of his life by levelling the playing field. It is definitely a hero’s entrance, though.

Just watching episode 12 of “A Journey to Love” 🌸 After betrayals, conflict with the enemy and internal strife, Ning Yuanzhou and Ren Ruyi reunite and relive the scene where she announced that she wants to have his child without his love. This time round he doesn’t refuse. He just keeps saying yes 😄❤️ Love might have a chance in the future, thus resulting in a mutual child rather than a child of convenience…

Am watching episode 5 of “A Journey to Love” 🌸 The scene where Ren Ruyi casually mentions that Ning Yuanzhou is the perfect candidate to be the father of her future child is hilarious. They hardly know each other but she has already decided 😄 The choice isn’t a bad one, but perhaps one that should be a mutual choice 😄😄

Have just begun watching “A Journey to Love” 🌸 It’s from 2023 but I couldn’t access it when it was broadcast. Now I found it on YouTube and am enjoying it immensely. It took a few episodes to establish itself and now it is beginning to take off. Many charismatic actors and quite a lot of humor lurking beneath a fairly sad premise.

As a US based woman who watches a lot of Asian dramas I have to say I was surprised by the subject matter of #storyofpearlgirl. There are often characters who have risen from the lower class/caste to high office but this is one of the first ones I've seen where the conditions & attitudes towards those held in slavery are presented so starkly. From what I'm seeing on sub Reddits and MDL many seemingly don't want to face this reality.
I could be wrong & the subject is presented the same way in film but I don't watch films.
What I've seen so far has made me realize that Zhao Lusi is a very good actor. The supporting cast holds up as well. I've been a fan of Liu Yunging since #ajourneytolove
Why such a negative reaction by some?

Maybe no one should be surprised, but I'm currently watching because I just enjoyed Fang Yilun's performance so much in . I'm up to episode 5 and I love it - sweet, light, fluffy. An enemies to lovers story done well. Much needed after the dark depths we had to go to in AJTL. Fang Yilun is a great actor and I'm happy to discover him this year alongside Cheng Yi and Liu Xueyi.

I have finally completed watching - verdict: Excellent! It has great storytelling, an outstanding cast, awesome character development, and a strong portrayal of women. However, it tried to squeeze too much at the end and suffered for it, but IMHO it didn't tank the show at all. A highly recommended show.

Drama Tea · A Journey to Love (review & episodes watchlog)Members of a secretive organisation is roped in to protect a princess on a dangerous diplomatic mission. A female assassin joins them on their journey with a mission of her own.

can go downhill towards the end fast, so I prayed that could retain its quality till the very end. We are finally at the final week. I am happy to report that it's still good. Then again, there are 6 episodes left & things could still go wrong. 😅
So 🙏 pray that we get a satisfying ending, whether it's a happy one or not. None of that open ended nonsense pls!

PS: Post updated up to notes on episode 34.

is still going strong for me. I keep waiting for that other shoe to drop - either it slides in quality or everyone dies or something, but on the whole it has been a fun with a surprising number of funny moments and great fight scenes. Have not watched a this fun in a long while, but then it has all my favourite tropes - brotherhood, strong female leads 😁 Also, I like that the woman is the one doing the pursuing here!
