I always hear people in 2024/5 promoting the idea of "think for yourself". I sincerely don't grasp why people think that is so important. It seems like people are constantly re-inventing the wheel and coming up with poor quality wheels, and I mean really poor.

An "Isolation Chamber" could be defined as an Echo Chamber of One, where external forces impose limitations on exposure to new ideas, perspectives, and meaningful dialogue.

"Grammarly now uses AI to help you write."

Of course, you could actually learn how to write.

I prefer to curate my own feed. I have little understanding of why many just use the algorithmic feed.

I can choose my own stuff. I can find my own stuff.

It's these crappy algorithms that are causing chaos. Not in a good way, either.

Just wean yourself off the algorithm. If a service doesn't allow to to have a non algorithmic feed, boycott it.

On Christmas Eve, some people celebrate that a middle class, middle eastern man in his late 30s bought a new (underage) wife. He was on his way home with her when she, aged 14 by now, gave birth to her first son. It was a cold night and they had to beg to find a roof over their heads for the night.

Now imagine how this story could have developed differently, if everyone in this story had received UBI.
