Just look at recent performance updates to the #Linux kernel over recent cycles. Almost every Linux kernel improves the gaming software stack to improve performance. Over that same time, software such as #ProtonLinux #DXVK #VKD3D #Wine is updated to improve performance and compatibility.

There is a reason why #Valve and other companies are investing a lot of resources into Linux

Inb4 we all use translation layers to play games (yes, even on windows) because apparently it allows competent and talented people to optimize around junk that limits performance (similar example was elden ring last year) on the fly.

Okay, so for the record, I tried a bunch of things to get #GuildWars2 to work on #NVIDIA:

- Installing #Nouveau to use #Gallium9 caused a lot of problems (like no 144 Hz) with no noticable improvement.
- Installing #VKD3D #Proton didn't do anything as #GW2 is #DX11
- Installing #DXVK made the launcher crash "Coherent GPU process crashed"
- Simply launching the game through #Steam magically worked. ✨

Seriously, what black magic is #Valve doing? Is #Wine even relevant anymore? #GamingOnLinux
