Come join us! We're especially looking for nontechnical roles like admin coordinators, graphic designers, civic engagement specialists, and more.

I am a #queer #civictech #webdev interested in #solarpunk living, a more sustainable web, and improving the world around me!

My work can always be found at travissouthard.com/ where I post projects, blog posts, and sometimes #pixelart.

Outside of my work as a developer, I am one of the co-directors at #codeforphilly, our projects are at: codeforphilly.org/

In a past life I was a bike mechanic and #biketour leader. Still ride and go #bikepacking when I can.

Last night was my first #codeforphilly hack night as the newer co-Director. Very excited to be working with Andria to keep CfP going strong! And grateful to @katjost for setting us up for success the way she has as the previous co-Director!

Check out codeforphilly.org if you’re interested in getting involved with #civictech in #philadelphia! Also we’re looking specifically for events, project success, and communications co-leads to join our leadership team!

Every time I talk to someone about the expungement petition generator app I work on with #codeforphilly, they tell me about a personal or family member’s experience with the justice system.

Having charges on your record is paralyzing and especially frustrating when it’s charges that we’re not convictions and often never prosecuted, but still show up on a background check.

#PhillyTechWeek is coming up soon & I’m looking forward to participating in 3 ways:

1. Speaking about Comcast’s ongoing trial of GitHub’s AI-augmented coding tool, #GitHubCopilot, which I am leading, at a luncheon on May 10th

2. Speaking about the successes & learnings from running the 2023 #CodeForPhilly Launchpad (5-week hackathon) after the luncheon

3. Hosting the Launchpad Showcase at #IndyHall at night on May 10th, where teams will demo their projects after 5 weeks of hard work!

My birthday is today! Since it’s always the day before New Year’s Eve, I tend to get very retrospective.

Things I’m proud of this year:
- Buying a house!
- Leading my #codeforphilly team
- Excellent wedding reception!
- Growing in my job, leading on work culture talks/projects
- 2-week #biketour in Ireland!

Things I want more of in the new year:
- Bike rides!
- Especially some weekend and longer #bikepacking trips!
- Level up my #geospatial software engineering
- Make more #pixelart

I love my #community at #CodeforPhilly. We rallied & spent the morning trying to figure out how to let these people know that their ballots were missing dates, etc. & wouldn’t be counted, so that they would hopefully fix the ballot or show up in person to vote: vote.phila.gov/news/2022/11/05

Turns out others were way ahead of us. It was inspiring.
