Bruh, I might've wasted my time learning how to passthrough a GPU to an #LXC container on #Proxmox (as well as mount a SMB/CIFS share) and write up a guide (haven't been able to test yet, cept with the latter) - all by doing some seemingly magic #Linux fu with some user/group mappings and custom configs, if it turns out that you could actually achieve the same result just as easily graphically using a standard wizard on PVE.
It's 4am, I'll prolly try to find time later during the day, or rather evening (open house to attend at noon), and try using the wizard to 1) Add a device passthrough on an LXC container for my #AMD iGPU (until my #Intel #ArcA380 GPU arrives) and see if the root user + service user on the container could access it/use it for transcoding on #Jellyfin/#ErsatzTV, and 2) Add a SMB/CIFS storage on the Proxmox Datacenter, tho my #NAS is also just a Proxmox VM in the same cluster (not sure if this is a bad idea?) and see if I could mount that storage to the LXC container that way.
#Homelab folks who have done this, feel free to give some tips or wtv if you've done this before!

Project "Talos Most of the #HomeLab Things" has taken another step closer to fruition. The new NAS head machine arrived yesterday so I put in an HBA and a 10Gbit card and installed #TrueNAS.
This morning I swapped the ZFS array from its old home (nibbler) to the new NAS head (morbo), imported the pools and set up NFSv4 exports. After mounting those shares on nibbler my #Jellyfin LXC booted right up.
The next step is to convert Jellyfin into a #Kubernetes workload with an NFS-backed PVC. After I've got that working for everything but transcodes I'll be able to pave nibbler with Talos and get transcodes back, then work on the rest of the media stack.
Future steps are to pave hypnotoad and lrrr with Talos, put TrueNAS on the backup machine (crushinator) and maybe put control plane nodes into TrueNAS VMs.

Two new releases of @jellyfin for #AndroidTV are currently publishing to the app stores!
I've added support for the upcoming #Jellyfin 10.11 server release to keep playback working (it doesn't in some cases with the current app release).

Trying to replace our old Android based TV interface with a Linux based one.
Anyone know a #JellyFin client that allows for switching users without having to log in to each every time?
The android client allowed us to have a few users logged in and just switch between them.
Update 0.2.1 for Flex 
Added #ErsatzTV support - a platform where you could create "TV" channels that broadcast your own media to your streaming platform i.e. #Jellyfin or #Plex in a "traditional" TV format, with programme scheduling, guides, and all.
I've been wanting to have this for a really long time and it's good to finally have it - eventho I've to rely on CPU transcoding for now, which surprisingly works pretty well with no buffering etc. tho I suspect I couldn't get more than 1 client streaming concurrently lol.

Figuring out how to passthrough an #AMD iGPU to a #Linux VM on #Proxmox is just..... something not within my capacity atm lol. Maybe someday if I happen to have an additional test hardware I could potentially fuck with without screwing my main environment, and if I manage that then I could update my #homelab wiki on how to do it. For now though, I think I can live without transcoding on #Jellyfin or #ErsatzTV :))

Qualcuno usa #jellyfin ? Ho un problema, avevo messo una lista IPTV e ok poi un link epg, successivamente ho deciso di togliere il link epg perché non funzionava bene e ne ho messo un altro ma non andava... Ho deciso di togliere anche la lista IPTV ma ora sembra come fosse rimasto in cache perchèi canali si vedono ma non funzionano, e se torno a rimettere tutto com'era all'inizio rimane ancora l'epg vuota cosa che prima non succedeva, mancava solo su alcuni canali... #mastoaiuto
#ErsatzTV is super cool and something I've always been eyeing on, and I managed to get it working on my #Kubernetes cluster, and hooked it up to #Jellyfin - but now kinda wondering if it's possible to "avoid" transcoding and have it running like it would on Jellyfin, through Direct Play, if you'd used the appropriate client cos rn, even tho it's hooked to Jellyfin, it's certainly transcoding - when the same media file would play directly just fine if I'd just consume it from the Jellyfin media library directly.
@chikorita157 #Jellyfin and a free #Tailscale plan work for me. I was never a plex user so I can't say how the features differ, but Jellyfin is a perfectly competent streaming server/app
Hmm #jellyfin on Android tv and hevc + dts never really works. Should debug that, as the issues on GitHub seem to be either resolved without resolution or stale. I wonder if I could create a simple testvideo for that.
I'm unsure how to debug it on the device, as it just says player error and gives up after a few tries. The server logs just report playback stopped. Playing files in my webbrowser works fine.

I'm trying to avoid Spotify this month, so I'm currently sat on the Osaka metro listening to my own CDs that I've ripped and are streaming from #Jellyfin on my NAS in Felixstowe using @tailscale
Very geeky, but rather cool all the same.
