This has very little to do with Chomsky (and his field of research). What he says here is obvious for anybody who has studied the basics of linguistics. Hundreds and thousands of linguists have stated this obvious fact, and it's just sad that it still has to be supported with the authority of one hyped celeb linguist. (Who is also an appeaser of a terrorist state. But this, too, has precious little to do with the "value" of different language varieties.)

I saw one video of him talking about Russia and Ukraine. If I recall, he wanted the west to stop funding Ukraine because he's terrified of nuclear fallout; not because he's "an appeaser of a terrorist state".
