@timbray I’m a personal fan of SF Mono on the Mac. Outside that, I’m a big fan of Input Mono Narrow, from the Input family of fonts. Free (as in beer, sadly not as in freedom), and can be customized to taste. You can choose your preferred letterforms for commonly confused characters (1, i, l, etc.), line spacing, and so on.
