It's blown my mind since Reagan (I was in high school and college) that anybody falls for that privatization crap. Privatization just means someone will try to extract profits from whatever it is. Given the same resources, the same constraints, and the same desired outputs/services, how is extracting profits going to help? Why is extracting profits going to help? Really, WHOM* is extracting profits going to help?
*I originally posted "WHO," which is not correct and a bit confusing. Using"whom" is especially important because of the sentence order.
So, if you don't mind dropping some addresses from delivery in the US, just let the USPS not deliver everywhere. Or if they don't have to carry letters? Fine. But to pretend that private enterprise has some magic ability to do things that the government can't is class D, low-grade bullshit.
